A little about me
I am a lifelong learner who is deeply passionate about equity and access to education. I leverage my experience as Teacher, Parent, Educational Therapist, School Psychologist, and Special Education Administrator to effectively support students, families and teams as an assessor, consultant and coach.
My depth of understanding of the educational system makes me a unique translator for how to practically address student learning profiles and neurodivergence across home and school settings. Sustained student success happens at the intersection of effective student, parent and school team communication. Today’s educators and parents face increasing challenges, and I am here to help navigate the system. I believe that creating relationships and an atmosphere of mutual respect is foundational to success, and approach every client with a belief that their knowledge is equally important to mine or the school’s.
My career has focused on populations that do not fit our image of a “typical student”. A cornerstone of this love is developing a clear understanding of the student's learning profile and supporting teams to share this understanding. Empowering parents with the knowledge and skills to advocate for their students, students to advocate for themselves, and schools to be ready to work as a partner is integral to my approach. In presentations, meetings and staff development, I emphasize tools to understand and effectively communicate across settings and roles as I lead multidisciplinary teams to explore creative solutions to increasingly complex challenges.
