Consultation and IEP/504 Plan Support

The world of Special Education and accommodations can be overwhelming and confusing, beginning with the difference between an IEP and a 504 Accommodation Plan.  It can seem like a foreign language, led by an unfamiliar cast of characters.

My ability to translate the complexities of the school system and “ed speak” for parents sets the stage for more positive outcomes. All players will participate in creating a plan to move forward.

I simplify the documents and process, providing as much or as little support as needed to make you feel more confident in meeting participation.  Services may include:

  • Consultation (may include school processes and documents)

  • Report and IEP Review

  • Attending IEP meetings

  • Homeschool support

I just wanted to take a moment to say "Thank you!!!" to DeeDee!!! Having a child who is neurodiverse can be frightening, as you try to navigate all of the things that you have to do, to give them a fair chance, and to get accommodations, if needed. Many people don't understand, and act as though it is a secret, or they make judgements of a child, and what they need, based upon their own implicit biases. DeeDee has been wonderful! She listened to what we said, went through mountains of paperwork from my daughter's testing over years, and made it seem so simple, with outlined steps written out, so that I felt confident in being able to take the necessary steps. The "mountain" that I'd been facing, now looks a lot smaller, thanks to DeeDee's help!! J.E., Los Angeles, homeschool parent application for accommodations
